Grape Farm In La Union

Planning to head north on your next getaway? You might want to include on your itinerary a stopover in La Union, particularly at the Municipality of Bauang, which is considered the fruit basket of the North and home to some of the local grape farms.

Located at Brgy. Urayong, boundary ARCO of Bauang and Caba, 300 meters west (paloob), is Gapuz Grape Farm. There  are no entrance fees, just pay for the grapes you picked and harvested, which costs PHP 250.00 per kilo, “Pick and Pay” as what they call it. The staff will give you scissors and basket you can use for picking the grapes yourself straight from the vines,

Nothing beats a freshly picked grapes for a snack during the long journey, healthy and refreshing, and a nice pasalubong (give away)  to your friends and relatives.

The best season for grape picking are on the months of May – June, where the grapes are mostly ripe and ready for the picking, and if you’re going during rainy season months, expect to get your foot wears dirty and muddy, as the soil is moist and wet. If you want to visit Gapuz Grapes Farm, be sure to check out their facebook page first as they post updates on grape-picking activities to have the best possible experience. As you don’t want to go their and see only vines or grapes not ready yet for the picking.

Thats such a fun way to get your tourist on, be interactive and get some food too. Looks beautiful! I have never been grape or fruit picking before, but it is on my list.

What a fantastic idea of picking up your own grapes. I’m quite familiar with the concept for apples, strawberries and a variety of fruit, but have never thought about it for grapes. Looks like a great way to spend a day. You are right, nothing beats fresh fruits picked off the vines!
