The announcement was made on the official international Pokémon Go Facebook page today, August 6 at around 9 a.m., Philippine standard time. The said post appears below.
Pokemon Go is a free-to-play, location-based augmented reality mobile game. It is developed by Niantic, and was initially released in selected countries last July 2016
The objective of this game is to catch Pokémon. It may sound simple, but, there’s a catch, you need to move around and explore real places to find more Pokémons. Yep, you hear that right, unlike conventional games where you just sit on your couch and play it; in Pokemon Go you need to stretch those legs, and get out from the house in order to advance and find more Pokémons to catch. You have to walk either on your house or around the neighborhood, and if there’s a Pokémon nearby your mobile device will likely vibrates, informing you to get your game on, and be ready to throw those Poké Ball , who knows you might bump into those rare Pokémons.
The technology behind this hi tech game play is the combination of GPS technology and augmented reality. GPS tracks your movement and locations, and map them on the games world map. While augmented reality helps you see Pokémon from your camera preview, where you can throw Poké Ball to catch it.
So what are you waiting for, experience the game first hand and download the game now. Good luck and go catch ’em all.
